....Because they are PRESERVED. And they are hard as a rock. And covered with sealer. But aren't they AWESOME??
They started as normal mini-croissants from my local grocer. I microwaved them for 2 1/2 minutes to make them good and hard. It also darkened the color a bit. Then I sprayed all the sides with a matte finish sealer.
I found the Cheese Board and cover at the thrift store, as well as the candle holder. I spray painted both bases in black, added a paper doily under the croissants and popped the cover back on. They are now sitting on my kitchen island... and lookin' very cute, I must say.
Just don't try to take a bite. You will be very disappointed.
