Valentines Day 2011

Last year I was able to put to use a fabulous pair of decorations that had been waiting in storage for a couple of years while I was single. When I found the print with the shoe painting, I literally jumped up and down in the thrift store! It was totally my style, and it was CHEAP! Yep, I got it for $1.00. My lucky day because I already had a pair of wire mesh heels which I knew would be the perfect companion to the print. I just added some greenery and a couple of hearts which I found at Hobby Lobby.

It's a little hard to see, but the shoes are heels like the one in the painting. I'm thinking about spray-painting them cream to match the painting. I don't use them for anything else during the year. What do you think??
Isn't is dreamy? French writing, see through framing, and sheet music. Love.
Another shot of the shoes. Should I paint them?
Going along with the pairing, I added some vintage silver pieces, some old books and a sweet little frame that I embellished. I found the frame at the thrift store as well, and the sheet music came from one of my vintage music books.  Rounding out the scene are my trio of "English Window" votive holders (also thrift finds) a stacking plate holder, and a topiary.
Can you believe I found the lover book, too?? Perfect, right?
Note to self...close the TV armoire before taking this year's pictures!!

This year I plan to switch it up just a bit, and I will post those photos once I complete the display. (I'm still taking down my Christmas, however, (gasp!) so it will be a few days.
