Vintage Yellowstone Christmas Tree

Every year my sister and I decorate and donate a Christmas Tree to our local Children's Hospital Fundraiser. This is a HUGE event, with over 700 decorated trees, plus other items. This is my 15th year in a row of doing a tree, and my 27th tree total. With that amount, I have raised almost $80,000 for the charity over the 15 years I've donated a tree. It's a great way to kick off the season, although it's A LOT of work!! We don't spend too much money on it…we are serious bargain hunters, and we hand-make much of our decor. We do however, spend a lot of time on it. This year our donation sold for $1,750.00 after it went in to a bidding war. That's about a 10th of what we spent on it total with both of our expenses, which is generally how it works out for our trees. My money goes a lot further this way than just donating a set amount of money. I'm not ready to stop anytime soon…and we've already planned next year's tree….so we'll be watching for Christmas clearance!

I'm running like mad this week to catch up from working full-time for the past month, and still working on getting my OWN Christmas Trees and decor up in my home, so I'm not going to have time to post individual descriptions of each of the items right now. But, I will get back to that in a few days. In the meantime, enjoy the photos! This year's tree was inspired by a collection of Vintage Yellowstone Postcards that I bought off E-Bay a few years ago….as well as the color aqua that is predominant in the postcard images. My brother in law made the Adironack Chairs for us….and I made baby ones to match on the tree. More info to come….
